Infinity Hospice Care Supports Launch of Bipartisan Senate Caucus Focused on Palliative and Coordinated Care

Senate Comprehensive Care Caucus will be the first to focus on expanding access to palliative care and issues impacting caregivers.

Las Vegas, NV – Infinity Hospice Care(IHC) today applauded Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) for her leadership that brought about today’s launch of the Senate Comprehensive Care Caucus. This bipartisan caucus will be the first Senate caucus dedicated to improving access to palliative care for the seriously ill and issues impacting caregivers.

“On behalf of our entire organization, we applaud Senator Rosen’s efforts to improve palliative and coordinated care for individuals with advancing and serious illness” said Brian Bertram, Managing Partner of Nevada Care Connect and Vice President of Infinity Hospice Care.

“The uncertainty of not knowing what to expect and the lack of clarity with a fragmented healthcare system creates anxiety for patients and their families.  Prior to enrolling in hospice, many individuals struggle to find coordinated medical care and teams they can trust,” said Bertram.  “I am encouraged that these senators recognize the need to do more for seriously ill individuals and I look forward to supporting Senator Rosen in her efforts.”

The goal of the caucus is to raise awareness and improve palliative care policy. Palliative care utilizes interdisciplinary teams of providers who work to optimize quality of life by anticipating, preventing, and treating suffering. Like hospice, palliative care involves addressing the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of a patient and their family. Furthermore, palliative services often reduce stress, lower costs and improve outcomes for patients with serious illnesses.
